CAW’s experience and expertise in managing water and wastewater operations at client facilities is unrivalled in the Irish market and is underpinned by our innovative process optimisation approach. We deliver operational resilience, compliance, sustainability and efficiency as standard to each of our customers – even during complex upgrade works – including several major upgrades at Ringsend WwTW in Dublin, one of the largest wastewater treatment works in Europe.

As part of the Anglian Water Group, one of the largest UK water companies, we leverage expertise, innovation, and best practices in asset management from across the group to maximise the value we provide to clients.

A Comprehensive Approach

With a holistic asset management approach, we enhance performance and extend lifespan through advanced tools and proactive strategies, ensuring efficient and effective management.

Digital Asset Management

We use Computerised Maintenance Management systems such as PEMAC, Maxpanda and IBM-Maximo  to improve asset lifespan and performance by registering assets and generating maintenance plans, condition reports, and replacement schedules. This proactive approach ensures efficient management and maximises an asset’s operational life.

Advanced Tools

In addition to the Computerised Maintenance Management Systems mentioned above, Building Information Modelling (BIM) enhances our asset management capability by enabling digital representations, which improves visualisation and data accuracy for efficient maintenance planning and management.

Proactive Management

We follow comprehensive standard operating procedures, individualised to specific assets, which encompass regular proactive and preventative maintenance, to ensure long-term reliability and optimal performance.

Continuous Optimisation

Alongside the use of key ISO Management Systems around quality, environmental, safety and energy management, we strive to maximise asset performance and lifespan by applying LEAN Six Sigma processes to proactively address challenges and improve efficiency.

A Proven Track Record

For over 25 years, Uisce Éireann has consistently entrusted us with managing critical assets on their key sites, including:

Across all the plants we manage, we have gained extensive experience managing a wide range of assets and technologies, including:

  • Advanced sludge treatment (e.g. Thermal Hydrolysis and Pasteurisation).
  • Anaerobic Digestion.
  • Biosolids management and recycling.
  • Biological treatment systems (e.g., SBRs, MBRs, MBBRs, Aeration, etc).
  • Chemical coagulation, flocculation and clarification.
  • Chemical dosing systems.
  • CHP systems.
  • Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF).
  • Monitoring systems.
  • Nereda® Aerobic Granular Sludge
  • Nutrient recovery.
  • Preliminary treatment systems.
  • Primary treatment systems (such as primary sedimentation and lamella settlement).
  • Pumping stations.
  • Rapid Gravity Filtration.
  • Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems.
  • SCADA systems, telemetry, automation and controls.
  • Secondary treatment systems.Ultrafiltration (UF) systems.
  • UV Disinfection systems.
  • Water abstraction and screening.
  • Water softening systems.
  • Water storage and retention.

This depth of experience ensures that we manage both traditional processes and the most advanced technologies with efficiency, delivering optimal performance and compliance at every site.

Mobile Engineering Team

Alongside our highly skilled operational team, who ensure the plant operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance, we have a dedicated Mobile Engineering team to further optimise on-site processes. Their expertise encompasses both proactive and capital maintenance, to maximise the performance of assets and enhance both effluent quality and energy production. In addition to maintenance, they support the delivery of projects and upgrades, driving further improvements in plant efficiency and operational excellence.

CAW Managed Sites

Ringsend Wastewater Treatment Works serves 50% of the Republic of Ireland's population and is one of the largest and most advanced treatment works in Europe. CAW has operated and maintained the plant for Uisce Éireann since 1999.
Managed by CAW on behalf of Uisce Éireann since 2010, Waterford Wastewater Treatment Works serves 190,000 people, using advanced processes to meet the highest standard to the environment and improve biodiversity.
Since 2009, CAW has operated and maintained the site (located in a Special Area of Conservation) on behalf of Uisce Éireann - consistently delivering high standards that prioritise biodiversity and environmental protection.
Since 2001 CAW have managed the operation and maintenance of the state-of-the-art Foxes Den water treatment plant to deliver around 16.5 million litres of drinking water per day to the county's population and businesses.
