As part of our commitment to a sustainable future, and protecting future generations, we want to have a positive societal impact to bring social, environmental and economic prosperity to the communities within which we serve.

Supporting Our People and Communities

These are just some of the ways we are supporting our people and the communities which we serve:

Employee Wellbeing Support

CAW’s year-round program, led by our Occupational Health Nurse and supported by our ‘Morale Squad’ of volunteers, fosters increased employee engagement, reduces absenteeism, and builds a culture of care and concern, enhancing talent attraction and retention.

Community Support

Each year, CAW supports various community projects, including the sponsorship of local sports teams, supporting the Society of St Vincent de Paul’s annual (SVP) Food Appeal, and taking part in the Pieta House ‘Darkness into Light’ event to raise valuable funds to aid suicide prevention.

Supporting Local Charities

We have established three Charity Partnerships chosen by our teams to make a difference in the local community. The Charity Partnerships consist of an annual corporate donation by CAW, as well as employee fund-raising and volunteering.

Empowering Young People

CAW offers valuable learning experiences to students through internships, site tours, online sessions, and STEM initiatives. These activities highlight the benefits of careers in engineering and water industries, providing early exposure and essential industry knowledge.

Employment and Development Opportunities

CAW is dedicated to creating development and employment opportunities by offering apprenticeships and graduate opportunities. We also facilitate career progression and actively support individuals to gain further professional qualifications and advance their careers.

Our Charity Partnerships

As part of our commitment to local communities, each site is an ambassador to a chosen charity. We have pledged to support these charities in the regions we operate within throughout 2025.

Dublin: Clean Coasts

Clean Coasts works to preserve coastal environments through community-led efforts such as beach clean-ups and educational campaigns, ensuring sustainable enjoyment of Ireland's coastlines.

Waterford: Waterford River Rescue

Waterford River Rescue focuses on safeguarding and assisting along the waterways of Waterford through community-driven rescue operations and safety initiatives, ensuring the wellbeing of locals and visitors.

Sligo: Northwest Hospice

Northwest Hospice near Sligo provides compassionate palliative care to patients facing life-limiting illnesses, supported by community involvement and fundraising efforts to sustain their vital services.

Further Charity Support

In addition to our Charity Partnerships, we want to support the charities that are close to our team’s hearts. This means that CAW will make a generous donation to fundraising activities organised by our employees.

Initiatives organised by the Team include the “Darkness Into Light” where the team raised over €2000 this year, including a €400 donation by CAW and SVP’s annual food appeal where we have raised over €18,000 over the last 10 years.
